———-
The science of memory is increasingly well understood, but faculty practices are frequently not aligned with emerging understandings about how people learn. This BVA webinar will explore how principles from learning science can strengthen course redesign efforts, decisions about assessment, and the use of classroom time. Additionally, we will look at best practices for helping with study skills that are informed by research on learning and memory. Drawing on work at the University of South Florida, we will look at how learning science can help faculty implement more effective course designs, teaching methods, and student study practices. Webinar leader Kevin Yee will share resources for this work that can easily be adapted for use on other campuses.
